Course venue and accommodation

The workshop will take place at Eden Roc Hotel & Spa, which is located north of Barcelona in the heart of Costa Brava, a coastal region of Catalonia in northeastern Spain.

Course participants will stay at the Eden Roc Hotel (Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain). This venue ensures that all participants are housed together with common dining throughout the meeting, maximizing spontaneous interactions beyond the scheduled sessions. Also, the lecture hall comfortably seats 120 people and is equipped with high-quality audio-visual equipment for presentations, ensuring that everyone can hear and see them with ease. Technical staff are on site and available to assist with any technical issues. The lecture hall also houses the poster boards, ensuring all posters are easily accessible throughout the meeting. This is particularly important, as it enables posters to be viewed and discussed throughout the meeting.

High-quality catering is available on site. Depending on the weather, everyone eats together either in the restaurant or on the partially covered outdoor terrace. The coffee session venue is next to the lecture room, so refreshments can easily be taken into the hall to enjoy while viewing posters or siting and discussing talks, ideas, and collaborations. There are also gym facilities, tennis courts, and two swimming pools very close to the lecture room, enabling attendees to complement listening to talks with some physical activity.

The venue is conveniently located close to two major train stations - Girona (30 km away) and Barcelona (120 km away), and a major international airport - Barcelona Airport. Both Barcelona and Girona can be reached by train from most European cities. Barcelona Airport is served by flights from most international destinations.

Eden Roc is located very close to the town of Sant Feliu de Guixols and can be reached from Barcelona Airport, station and city centre by a regular bus service that runs every two hours. Depending on traffic, the journey time is about 1.5 hours. Similarly, a bus service runs every hour between Girona train station and Sant Feliu de Guixols. The journey takes up to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. The bus station in Sant Feliu is 250 metres from the workshop venue.

To facilitate travel from Barcelona Airport and station, the venue staff will organise two coaches (one in the early afternoon and one in the late afternoon, depending on the arrival times of the participants' flights) to pick up all participants, including invited speakers, at the start of the meeting and return them at the end.
